Land O' Lakes is launching Cinnamon Sugar Butter Spread. The product features cinnamon and sugar blended into creamy, all-natural (no artificial ingredients) butter.

Spreadable butters saw 11.3% sales growth last year and now have 10% U.S. household penetration, according to Land O' Lakes marketing manager Angela Pengelly. This new Land O' Lakes entry is the first flavored butter designed for consumers looking for easily spreadable butter, she reports.

The product is intended for use as a topping/spread or addition to a variety of foods, such as breakfast pastries, toast and bagels and oatmeal (to encourage kids to eat the all-important breakfast meal, for example), and as an ingredient in dinners, side dishes and desserts, among other uses, according to the brand.

The new spread (suggested retail of $2.49 for 6.5-ounce container) will be available in the refrigerated dairy cases of supermarkets nationwide starting this summer.
