Cupid, a new relationship reality series from "American Idol's" Simon Cowell that challenges America to find the perfect mate for one eligible young woman, will begin production on May 19 for
broadcast later this summer on CBS.
Lisa Shannon, the "Cupid girl," is a copywriter for an advertising agency. She is 25 and was born and raised in the suburbs outside of Detroit. Along with her
girlfriends, Kimberly and Laura, Lisa will soon begin a nationwide search to find the man of her dreams.
The 11 episode series has two distinct parts. In the first two episodes, the "Cupid girl"
will crisscross the country with her two friends auditioning potential suitors. During each audition, the guys will have 30 seconds to impress them. In episode three, the men who made the first cut
have one more chance to win over Lisa as she and her friends select the final 10 candidates.
Beginning in episode four, the "Cupid girl" will get to know each of the 10 men better through a series
of dates.
Brian McFayden will host the series. Simon Cowell, Craig Piligian and Ken Warwick are the executive producers for Cupid Productions, Inc., in association with FremantleMedia North
America Inc.
