Fox, YouTube Team For GOP Debate

Perry Romney

After CNN and YouTube partnered on a pair of debates in the last presidential campaign cycle, Fox News is linking with YouTube-parent Google on a Republican faceoff Sept. 22. Google search trends will appear onscreen, along with data related to the issues.

YouTube will still play a major role, as viewers can submit questions via text or video on a YouTube/Fox News locale. Viewers can vote on questions they would like submitted to the candidates. Fox News will consider the results when deciding which issues to put before the candidates.

Steve Grove, who heads news and politics for YouTube, stated that "we hope to bring more voices into the arena to create an informed and lively dialogue about the future of our country."

The GOP debate will be available live on Fox News Channel, YouTube, Fox News Radio, FoxNews.com and the news network's mobile offering. The moderator will be Bret Baier, and fellow Fox News personalities Chris Wallace and Megyn Kelly will serve as panelists. In 2007, CNN and YouTube held debates for both Democratic and Republican hopefuls.
