Mars Chocolate North America has launched a "Mars Random Acts of Chocolate" promotion to distribute nine million free samples of five of its leading candy brands this fall.

The company kicked off the promotion yesterday by having bike messengers distribute 50,000 samples around Manhattan.

U.S. consumers can obtain freebies (while supplies last) in three ways: By logging onto the respective Facebook pages of M&M's, Snickers, Twix, 3 Musketeers or Milky Way on Sept. 8 to get a free coupon for the candy of their choice (with the option of also giving a free coupon to a Facebook friend); by listening to one of the Clear Channel radio stations that will be giving away samples throughout September; or by purchasing any two of the candy brands at participating retailers, qualifying them for getting a third free.
