Q&A: MLB Faces Post-Season Challenges Of Time, Money, NFL

With the NFL scoring record TV numbers and fan support at an all-time high, can MLB generate enough excitement to keep viewers, especially those in non-playoff cities, interested? TV viewership for the 2010 World Series averaged about 12 million per game. That was down from the 19 million viewership average in 2009, when the New York Yankees played the Philadelphia Phillies, and about equal to 2008 when the Phillies played the Tampa Bay Rays.

Big Lead Sports spoke with Tim Brosnan, MLB's EVP of business operations, at Yankee Stadium, where he was a participant this week at the Beyond Sports United conference.
