Not surprisingly many young people don't want to watch much online advertising with video they want view -- unless it is extremely entertaining. They would like also to have a choice.
Nick Fuller, senior director of marketing for Mr Youth, a social media/youth marketing agency, interviewed a bunch young college students in the San Francisco area during the OMMA Video event.
One student warned about misleading online advertising, that "negative" buzz can ramp up quick and hurt a brand.
Another student said: "I'd like different options -- perhaps choosing between two different commercials or brands from the same company. Ones that entertaining."
When asked about digital video marketing that they found was good and effective, four students generally couldn't really come up with many examples.
But two students cited a trailer for a independent film documentary, "Misrepresention". These students shared the trailer with many of their friends.
