Younger consumers are fed up with the iPhone, and baffled by Android! Who says? Nokia. (Hold your laughter.) In an interview with Pocket-lint, Niels Munksgaard, director of Portfolio, product
marketing and sales at Nokia Entertainment Global explained: “What we see is that youth are pretty much fed up with iPhones. Everyone has the iPhone," he said. "Also, many are not happy with the
complexity of Android and the lack of security. So we do increasing [sic] see that the youth that wants to be on the cutting edge and try something new are turning to the Windows phone
platform.”
As for where Munksgaard gets such market insights, he does not say. Still, he is certain that Nokia, along with partner Microsoft, need to pursue a unique approach to win over
young people. Said approach includes offering services like Nokia Mix Radio, which gives users music out-of-the-box without having to sign up for any additional service, or pay month fees.
