For about a third of women watching the Super Bowl, they might as well turn down the sound of Tom Brady's or Eli Manning's play calling.
A poll
from Hanon McKendry conducted online in January by Harris Interactive among over 2,000 U.S. adults aged 18 and older, says 31% of women and 11% of men will "predominantly or exclusively" be watching
the game for the commercials.
Of perhaps lessor interest in the commericals, the Grand Rapids, Mich. pollster says 66% of female viewers say they'll watch the game as
much or more for the ads, compared to 46% of male viewers. Hanon McKendry says 70% of all adults in the U.S. are expected to watch the Super Bowl.
Last
year's game posted another TV record -- 111.5 million viewers, the most ever for a U.S. TV program, says The Nielsen Company.
