A couple of quarters into Super Bowl XLVI, and I am most moved by all the crossing over – not across the field, but between the Super Spots.
Early on GE and Budweiser mashed up so
well, I’m having trouble without the benefit of my DVR of knowing whose spot it actually was. Both I guess. What I do know is that GE makes turbines that generate power that helps make Budweiser
beer and keep it cold.
Then there was the crossover of two Volkswagen spokescharacters, a weight-reducing, car-chasing pooch, or Dark Vader in a Star Wars bar scene cameo.
Most of the
spots have been unremarkable, forced or in the case of Doritos’ feline-murdering, bribe-taking :30, or E*trade’s newborn speed-dater, in questionable taste.
My favorite so far was
the Budweiser end-of-prohibition spot. I don’t know why, it just got me.
Of course, the fanboy in me just about leapt from my couch seeing Marvel’s Avengers spot.
Say what
you want about the sophistication, or lack thereof, of Godaddy’s spots, I bet they drive significant traffic to their .co destination.
