Scroogle Shuts Down Due To DDoS Attacks

Options to stop Google from gathering browser information dwindled Wednesday with the closure of Scroogle, a proxy search engine that prevented companies from tracking searches, resulting from a series of DDoS attacks, which began in December. Daniel Brandt, the company's founder, also took down another four sites he owns, believing that the hacker attacks were caused by a "personal vendetta."
