The service would allow people to download TV shows minutes after broadcast and include archived episodes from the British broadcaster’s catalogue. BBC Director General Mark Thompson
described Project Barcelona as the “digital equivalent” of what people already do in buying DVDs of their favourite programme. BBC News reports the project will be brought before the BBC
Trust for approval later this year.
