Woolworths UK Launches Private Label Campaign

Woolworths is launching a national advertising campaign to promote its exclusive Woolworths Select range of products, claiming they are the same "flavour" as long-standing brands, but without artificial colors and flavors.

The move is set to further anger Australian manufacturers who are accusing both Woolworths and Coles of squeezing out products by mimicking them and selling them at a far cheaper price.

Woolworths stock around 2,500 own-brand products, from the entry-level Homebrand range to the family-oriented Select brand. Its own-brand products make up just over 10% of all sales. It plans to double sales by the end of 2016.
