  • April 9, 2012

NASCAR is launching “NASCAR Unites – An American Salute,” a program to support  U.S. military families. Starting and ending at summer races at Charlotte Motor Speedway (Memorial Day Weekend, May 26-27) and Daytona International Speedway (Independence Day Weekend, July 5-7),  activities will involve various races, teams, partners and sponsors. Teams in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will showcase support for the program in their own individual ways, from displaying the customized logo on their cars and trucks to developing red, white and blue paint schemes.

Through this program, NASCAR and The NASCAR Foundation will work with charities to fund initiatives that support military families. For more information on the charities and how to donate can be found at

In addition, a retail program, sponsor promotion and other at-track events will also be integrated into this period. NASCAR will also unveil a 30-second patriotic-themed broadcast spot that will debut around Memorial Day weekend and air each race weekend throughout the campaign onNASCAR broadcast partners ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, FOX, SPEED and TNT.
