Yep, Nick Pahade nailed me after I introduced him for his opening keynote at OMMA RTB this morning.

During my introduction, I said I was really excited when I saw him move from independent agency trading desk Traffiq to CEO of Interpublic’s Initiative unit, because it gave me permission to invite him to keynote OMMA RTB (you know, because he wasn’t a vendor now, but an end-user representing big advertising brands).

“That’s true,” Pahade said, taking the podium, “I couldn’t get Joe to return my calls while I was at Traffiq, and when I joined Initiative the first email I got was from Joe Mandese inviting me to keynote OMMA RTB.”

Holy crap, Pahade’s right, I’m just as shallow and opportunistic as everyone else in this business. So maybe it’s a good thing that a machine will replace me soon.
