Virgin Group will be a sponsor of TrueCar's "Women Empowered" all-women race team -- six women in six different race series. One of the women, Katherine Legge, is in the IndyCar series and became the 9th woman ever to qualify for the Indy 500. Virgin has signed on for the rest of the IndyCar season and 2012 Women Empowered racing calendar. 

The deal puts the Virgin name on Dragon Racing’s IndyCars, driven by Katherine Legge, and four-time Champ Car champion Sebastien Bourdais. Virgin Group has branding on the nose and fuselage of the cars, team uniforms, visor of helmets and all team apparel. 

The brand will also have its name on other “Women Empowered” initiative racing team cars. Dragon Racing, owned by Jay Penkse, manages TrueCar’s IndyCar team.
