Apparently, there is a gender divide when it comes to liking brands vs. people, at least when it comes to teenagers.
Thirteen-year-old Connor McLaughlin says he prefers following brands and
products to human beings, mainly because he sees the material benefits of staying informed about products and services, and because he doesn’t feel it’s authentic to follow celebrities
online.
“I’m just the opposite,” blurted 15-year-old Catlin Frank, “I follow more celebrities than products. I feel like it’s more of a girl thing to follow
people.”
