While athletes continue to protest “rule 40,” which bars Olympians from mentioning non-Olympic sponsor companies, rapper and producer Dr. Dre has found a way around the rules
(for now), sending his signature Beats headphones to athletes, hoping they will work the headphones into some sort of coverage (such as when Michael Phelps uses them to block out noise before a race).
While this would skirt the IOC rules (Beats is not an official sponsor), the entity has not yet ruled on whether the company is violating policy.
