HBO's big period drama, "Boardwalk Empire" showed consistency for its third season start up.
Its Sunday night premiere posted 4.6 million viewers -- a slight rise over its 4.5 million number that
began season two.
Breaking down the viewer performance: There was 2.9 million viewers for its original 9 p.m. airing,
then another 1.1 million for a rerun at 10 p.m, and another 624,000 viewers for a second re-airing at 11 p.m.
By way of comparison, season two's finale posted 3.8 million total viewers for an original airing and one other same day rerun.
