NBC, Amex Team For 'TM' Commerce (No, Not Trademarked)

NBCUniversal and American Express this morning announced a deal that will combine so-called "t-commerce" (the merchandising of products generated by television) with "m-commerce" (the sales of products via mobile media). The deal, which the companies claim to be a first of its kind, will enable consumers to purchase products "inspired by NBCUniversal TV programs directly from a mobile device while watching the program live.

"This game-changing content-to-commerce capability has never before been available in the United States," the companies touted in their announcement, adding that the merchandising iniitally will invovle NBCUniversal's DailyCandy, which will "curate a list of exclusive products inspired by Bravo's 'Life After Top Chef,' E!'s 'Fashion Police,' and Style's 'Tia & Tamera.'"
