A Tale Of Two 'F' Words

  • cnn.com, Monday, April 22, 2013 2:12 PM

Proving that context is all -- at least when it comes to cursing on TV -- one unfortunate TV anchor in North Dakota was suspended on his first day on the job after starting a broadcast with the "f" word, unaware that the mike was on, writes a Daily Mail reporter. Meanwhile, FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski gave Red Sox player Mike Ortiz "a free pass Saturday" for using that word in an emotional on-air speech the day after the suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing was captured. We like the "free pass," but wish it could be extended to that poor guy in North Dakota. Realistically, when emotions run high, many folks end up using the "f" word.
