Kicking off day two of the Email Insider Summit with a keynote is Draftfcb's Chief Digital Officer Chris Miller, who has worked with State Farm, Vokswagen and others on email campaigns.
He
said when his agency thinks about mobile, it focuses on three broad areas: devices, screen resolution and OS. He asks how does email stays relevant with bite-sized, smaller screens?
He says
think "mobile first." With design, start with the small screen and "make things addititive" rather than start at the big screen and adjust for the smaller one. It falls within the topic of responsive
design.
Miller cites data that says with mobile, email is the #1 activity. It's where people are accessing email. "That's a great opportunity," he says.
But how to build engagement? He
says conduct a "content audit" and a "taxonomy" audit. Think about content how it connects with the consumer throughout the buying cycle.
