This morning, eMarketer reports that while the search advertising sector remains strong, non-search ad revenues are also growing at a decent clip.
In fact, the aggregator of online data and intelligence projects that revenues from display, sponsorship, and rich media advertising will grow 10 percent by year-end 2004 and 21 percent in 2005. The researcher says that advertising unrelated to search is expected to hit $3.3 billion this year, and just nudge $4 billion in 2005. Ad revenues emanating from search are likely to hit $3.9 billion this year.
Meanwhile, eMarketer says that total online advertising revenue will reach $9.4 billion in 2004; that number could double in 2005. Really? If that holds true, online advertising at mid-decade is cooking.
