Facebook said on Wednesday opened up Custom Audiences
retargeting ad tool to all advertisers. Previously, the service had been limited to larger advertisers and agencies that use Facebook’s Power Editor tool and API.
Now Custom Audiences is available through Facebook’s self-serve ad platform as well. “Small businesses in
particular will now be able to use their current customer lists to reach people on Facebook. And, for the first time, businesses can use MailChimp lists with Custom Audiences,” stated a company
blog post today.
The
service will begin rolling out today on all Facebook ad interfaces with a limited number of U.S. advertisers before expanding globally starting next week, and will al advertisers worldwide by the end
of November.
Earlier this month, Facebook expanded retargeting through Custom Audiences beyond contact
information like customer email addresses and/or phone numbers to the Web sites people visit and mobile apps they use.
