The row over Sir Martin Sorrell's pay is likely to be reignited with news that the 69-year-old founder and chief executive of the company was handed just under GBP30 million in pay, bonuses and other
benefits for last year. It means that he has collected more than GBP78 million in the past five years alone. One shareholder has told The "Times" Sorrell's pay is "completely off the scale." In the
past, Sorrell has vocally defended his right to a generous compensation package, claiming he has previously been underpaid.
