Law enforcement agencies in Australia will not have access to digital consumer data from international companies under the new mandatory data-retention legislation. This includes data from
companies such as: Google, Facebook, Twitter and Skype. The legislation, which is currently in front of the country's Congress, will also force Australian telecommunications companies to keep
customer data for a minimum of two years.
