The late shift keeps shifting. This time it's Comedy
Central late night star Jon Stewart who is setting the daypart's dominoes tumbling, announcing during the taping of tonight's episode that he will step down from "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart"
later this year.
Comedy Central immediately tweeted a "Thank you Jon" message and posted a statement of gratitude, but shed little light on the fate of what might become of "The
Daily Show" without Jon Stewart other than to imply the impact of the show will "endure for years to come."
"The Daily Show" has been the spawning ground for many comedic
talents on the big and small screen alike, most notably Stephen Colbert, who is poised to take the helm of CBS' "Late Show" without David Letterman.
