JONATHAN WALD: NBC

  • by October 16, 2002
JONATHAN WALD, the Executive Producer of NBC's top-rated morning show "Today," has been fired and may soon be replaced by a former executive of rival ABC. NBC may be close to signing a deal with Tom Touchet, a former Producer at "Good Morning America," to replace Wald. Wald replaced Jeff Zucker, who left the show in January 2001 to become President of NBC Entertainment, and later assumed control of the network's West Coast operations in addition to his entertainment job. Before "Today," Wald was Executive Producer of the NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw. He joined the network in 1993 from a Boston TV station and worked his way through the production ranks on "Nightly News."
