ISP Accuses Site of Violating CAN-SPAM, Sues For Damages

Utah-based Internet Service Provider XMission has filed a lawsuit against the Florida firm Clickbooth.com alleging that the site has been sending spam messages to more than 100,000 email addresses hosted on its network. The ISP claims that the site violated the CAN-SPAM Act by continually sending unsolicited emails to its users. XMission is seeking $100 for every email address, seeking more than $60 million in damages.
