Consumers are increasingly looking for items made in the United States. Many are willing to pay more for the products. This has been a growing trend for years, but search engines have not jumped in to identify those products in search results. The non-profit group Truth in Advertising inadvertently uncovered through Wal-Mart Stores that some search engines won't return items with an image in a line of text in search results. Wal-Mart Stores says it added badges to product on its site to help customers find products made in America, but some search engines won't return an item with a badge in search results. So it removed them and continues to work on a way for consumers to quickly identify products truly made in America.
