Sixty-one percent of American workers report that email is "very important" to their job, according to research from The Pew Research for Center. Only 35 percent of those surveyed revealed
that using a landline at work was necessary and only 24 percent said that they rely on their mobile phones. Email is even more important to American workers than the Internet, which just 54 percent of
workers revealed was very important to their jobs.
