For the past year or so PornHub has been trying to up its game, improve its image and get people to pay for their damn porn obsessions. One of its latest ads depicts a couple shopping in a
supermarket and the husband asks the wife, "Why don't we get this aged Parmagiano-Reggiano? They say it's the Pornhub Premium of cheese."
Aside from the fact that it's one of the, ahem, cheesiest ads ever created, the Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheese Consortium -- yes, that's an actual thing -- isn't too pleased the ad associates the cheese category with porn. It's been reported that the cheese group's lawyers are exploring legal action related to potential brand damage.
A statement from the cheese consortium said the ad was “not only distasteful and unacceptable, but offensive for our producers and their work.” The statement continued claiming the ad is “vulgarly aimed at making a profit from the exploitation of the fame gained by Parmigiano-Reggiano.”
