Howard Schultz, the CEO of Starbucks, sent out an email this week telling
employees that consumer confidence might be down amid a stock market drop in China and urged employees to be understanding. "Our customers are likely to experience an increased level of anxiety and
concern," he wrote. "Please recognize this and--as you always have--remember that our success is not an entitlement, but something we need to earn, every day."
