MediaCom USA has raided a key executive from rival ZenithOptimedia’s U.K. operations to serve as its new chief client officer.  Tom Cijffers joins from managing director of Publicis’ ZenithOptimedia UK unit, where he was a 16-year vet -- including a stint in worldwide client service covering categories including CPG, automotive, financial services, personal technology and consumer durables and clients such as Reckitt Benckiser, Mars, Toyota/Lexus and Zurich Financial.

In a statement, Cijffers said he is joining GroupM’s MediaCom unit because it is an “opportunity to play on the largest stage there is,” presumably meaning the U.S. marketplace.

Cijffers, who will be based in New York, fills a position vacated by Adam Komack, who became MediaCom's Global Account Director on Dell early this year.
