'Generation Citizen', a New-York based, nonpartisan group, has launched its 'Vote16USA' campaign. The goal is to lower the voting age in the United States from 18 to 16. Opponents say that
16-year-olds are not mature enough to make decisions like voting for political office and that it’s a bid to increase the number of liberals eligible to vote. Supporters argue that lowering the
voting age will get younger people more interested in politics and in issues that matter to them.
