OpenX Partners With Quebecor Media

OpenX announced a partnership with Canadian company Quebecor Media this week.

Quebecor Media will use OpenX’s ad server to manage and monetize its digital advertising inventory, including serving ads in email newsletters for all Quebecor’s properties, and the Canadian company will  participate in OpenX's global ad exchange.

OpenX recently made two hires: Michael Radovancevich was named chief technology officer, and Douglas McPherson was promoted to chief administrative officer and general counsel. McPherson previously served as chief legal officer.

Quebecor, a Canadian broadcasting, communications and publishing company, claims to reach 96% of the Quebec population with its media. Its holdings include newspapers, magazines (including Elle Canada and Elle Quebec), book publishing and broadcasting and cable television.

Last year, Publicis Groupe acquired Nurun, an independent global design and technology consultancy, from Quebecor Media for 125 million Canadian dollars, or about $114.4 million. Additionally, Quebecor Media sold Sun Media to rival newspaper publisher Postmedia for $316 million.
