TaxAct Reports That Some Customer Data May Have Been Stolen

TaxAct, a tax preparation software firm, has revealed that hackers may have stolen the personal records and login information of about 450 customers. According to the company, TaxAct did not experience a data breach. The company believes that the criminals obtained customer name and passwords from other data breaches. The company has frozen the accounts of about 9,000 customers as a preventative measure.
