Yahoo Japan has joined the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) Tech Lab as its first founding member from outside the U.S. It will have a seat on the executive committee of the Tech Lab's board of
directors, according to a
blog post issued on Tuesday.
Yahoo Japan will use insights from the IAB Tech Lab to
offer "richer solutions, and extend the range of international perspectives that are brought to the table in order to drive global standards," wrote Scott Cunningham, the bureau's SVP of technology
and ad operations, and general manager of the IAB Tech Lab.
The Tech Lab was formed as an international body to guide the industry with technological solutions to support standards creation
and adoption. Cunningham wrote: "We know our products have international reach and we also know we need to care for the support wherever they are adopted. To do so requires bringing together
technology innovators from different countries and cultures."
