Salesforce Exec Describes Inspiration For Capitalizing on Email Real Estate

Adam Blitzer, executive vice president of Salesforce Sales Cloud can still remember when every sale counted. In an interview with Forbes, Blitzer described his a ha moment while eating lunch at Wendy’s in 2007. "I was eating a chicken sandwich and looking at the tray liner for something to read. And that is what got me thinking — Wendy’s was using all of its free white space, including the tray liner, for its marketing and branding. They were being smart and maximizing the space they had. And I thought, why couldn’t I do that with email?"Blitzer joined Salesforce as part of the Pardot acquisition. This company was early in the email-marketing signature space, and Blitzer was an advocate.
