Meredith To Handle Ad Sales, Distribution For 'Gluten-Free Forever'

Meredith Corporation announced that they will take over advertising sales and distribution of independent magazine GFF: Gluten-Free Forever, beginning with the spring 2016 issue.

Meredith will also handle production and printing for the title.

Founder and editor-in-chief Erika Lenkert and her San Francisco Bay Area-based staff will continue to produce the magazine’s content and retain editorial responsibility.

Meredith Group editorial content director Doug Kouma explained to Publishers Daily that pulling GFF into Meredith Specials distribution channel will scale the newsstand distribution up to 250,000 — a significant increase from its current circulation of around 10,000.

According to a statement, Meredith will “retain the publication's upscale production value” by continuing to publish GFF: Gluten-Free Forever “under its premium bookazine line with high-quality paper and printing.”

Meredith Corp. will partner with GFF for both the spring 2016 issue (available April 19) and the summer 2016 issue (available July 19).

After the summer issue releases, Meredith will evaluate their strategy going forward, Kouma said. “We are committed to increasing newsstand distribution of this luxury product through Meredith’s established resources and vendor networks.”

Launched in October 2014 by Lenkert, GFF is published quarterly and features gluten-free recipes from top chefs, cookbook authors and bloggers. The magazine also contains tutorials for gluten-free cooking and highlights trends, products, people and places around the gluten-free lifestyle.

“With the increasing consumer demand for gluten-free recipes and products, GFF: Gluten-Free Forever fits into our portfolio of wellness-minded publications, resonating with Meredith readers who are looking to adapt a more health-conscious lifestyle,” stated Kouma.

Previously, GFF: Gluten-Free Forever was available for an annual print subscription for $35, plus $5 for shipping and handling in the U.S.

GFF: Gluten Free Foreverwill now be available in stores nationwide for $9.99 a copy.
