Meredith Corp. Names Melinda Lee SVP/GMO, Video

Meredith Corporation has named Melinda Lee its new SVP and general manager of video.

In this role, Lee will be responsible for managing Meredith’s video studios, which offer product content in new video formats, like live, 360 and virtual reality nationwide, including New York, Seattle and Des Moines.

She will also work on developing video products, partnerships and programming to expand Meredith’s engagement and reach among millennial women across multiple media platforms, per a company statement.

Lee joins Meredith from Hearst Magazines International, where she served most recently as vice president of content and audience development.

Meredith’s chief strategy officer Kim Martin stated that Lee’s experience in creating large-scale digital video products and distribution strategies will help Meredith’s brands attract more millennial women.

In March, Meredith announced a partnership with Unconventional Studios to create and distribute entertainment and lifestyle video content targeting millennials. The partnership allows Meredith to bolster their digital presence with regular video content and attract millennial women.

Lifestyle content from Meredith’s brands, such as Parents and Shape, are now featured on Unconventional Studios’ nationally syndicated television show “Celebrity Page.”

“Millennial women are our fastest-growing audience segment, and we want to ensure that we continue to produce content that resonates with them,” Marc Rothschild, senior vice president of Meredith Digital, noted at the time.

Before joining Hearst, Lee was general manager of music at Getty Images, where she led business development and content strategy.
