A new sweepstakes is offering a novel prize: custom sneakers featuring images of “John Juan,” the character featured on the packaging for Brisk Iced Tea’s Pineapple Passionfruit flavor.
The brand commissioned just two pairs of the sneakers from custom sneaker artist Dan “Mache” Gamache, of Mache Custom Kicks.
Mache has designed custom sneakers for LeBron James, Kanye West, Kobe Bryant and many more celebrities, musicians, and professional athletes.
Digital agency Woven Digital produced a video (below) showing Mache “interviewing” the animated John Juan character as part of his design process for the special sneakers.
The sneakers are available only as prizes in a sweeps sponsored by Woven, being hosted separately on Woven’s Uproxx site and the Nice Kicks site. (The two prize pairs will actually be produced once the winners’ shoe sizes are known.)
Fans can enter via Twitter, Facebook and Instagram between July 7 and Aug. 18. Depending on the platform, they’re being asked to retweet or share a link to the video and/or the hashtag #BriskSweepstakes. There’s a limit of one entry per person, regardless of social account.
During the past few years, as part of its outreach to young consumers, Brisk has engaged emerging artists to design bold, unconventional can and bottle packaging using quirky characters.
