The surge, since the office opened in April, is attributed directly to the immediate demand from "a number of progressive clients wanting to take advantage of the fact that Anomaly is now on their doorstep," says the agency.
The new recruits come from three key sources: previous Anomaly NY employees, client-side talent from Nike and The Coca-Cola Company, and a few LA agencies.
Jiah Choi departs The Coca-Cola Company to become managing director; Kristy Fulwider is jumping from Nike to serve as communications strategy director; Kathleen Swanson and Pierce Thiot are leaving TBWA/Chiat/Day to join as creative directors; 180LA's Whitney Ruef and Jenny Kang are joining as part of the senior creative team; Laura Likos leaves CP+B to join as group business director; Josh Jefferis departs from 72andSunny to serve as group business director and Shawn Bohigian leaves MAL/180/Saatchi to become a ‘roving strategist.'
These executives work under Aisea Laungaue, partner, CSO, Anomaly LA. “Rather than open a new office to service the needs of any particular client -- we opened with a vision, an ambition and one awesome guy we know and love – Aisea Laungaue," says Carl Johnson, global CEO, Anomaly.
As a result of the fastest start of any Anomaly office globally, the agency is taking an additional 5,000 square feet of office space across the road from the original office on Abbot Kinney.
