Whether an email was written by a friend or a stranger doesn't help a reader identify the emotional tone of the message, according to new research out of Chatham University. The data revealed
that while both email writers and readers were confident that they would be able to determine their friend's emotions in an email, participants in an experiment proved otherwise.
