MTV and
Seventeen Magazine are creating a 10-episode series for the cable network about the Hearst-owned publication's search for a cover girl who will earn the title "America's Sweetheart."
The program, currently operating under the working title Project Seventeen, will start production in April, and is scheduled to premiere on MTV in the fall of 2005.
The winner of the
show will receive a prize package that includes a college scholarship, a paid internship at Seventeen, and her face on the cover. Casting calls for the new series will take place this spring
in cities across the country. Kicking off the music channel and magazine's partnership, Seventeen's April 2005 issue, currently on newsstands, carries an MTV theme throughout its pages. The
issue features exclusive interviews with MTV personalities and beauty secrets of pop stars. -- D.K.
