Is Donald Trump looking more serious at a possible TV-media future?

A report in the Financial Times says Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, owner of the weekly New York Observer, had a meeting with media banker/advisor Aryeh Bourkoff, co-founder of LionTree, about starting up a possible Trump TV network.

LionTree was a media advisor for Charter Communications for its $55 billion takeover of Time Warner Cable Inc. It also advised Verizon Communications on its $4.4 billion purchase of AOL and Liberty Global’s $23.3 billion deal for Virgin Media.

Business analysts have speculated that Trump would be looking to start up a TV network/media company after the presidential election should he lose.

In an NBC News/Wall Street Journal opinion poll, published this weekend, Trump trailed Secretary Clinton by 11 points nationally.

Trump had been a co-executive producer of “The Apprentice” and “Celebrity Apprentice.” Kushner is married to Trump’s daughter Ivanka. 

Roger Ailes, the former chairman of Rupert Murdoch’s Fox News Channel, is a close friend and advisor to Trump.

But according to terms of his exit agreement, he would be prohibited from working on a Trump media venture.
