Cheetos Offers Quirky, Branded Gift Items In Online Holiday Store

For Halloween, Cheetos offered a Chester Cheetah stuffed animal and an accompanying book of pranks, for $29.99 on Amazon. The limited offer sold out within a few days.

Now, for the holiday season, Cheetos is underlining its mischievous fun brand image by offering an online Cheetos Store, featuring a variety of real but decidedly tongue-in-cheek orange-and-black items under the “Designs by Chester Cheetah” label. 

“Each year, holiday catalogs and gift gurus share their most unique and coveted gift items of the year,” explains the Frito-Lay brand. “Cheetos is joining this illustrious group with the release of a legendary holiday book showcasing an assortment of this season’s must-have gifts. Each item is inspired by the Cheetos essence of exceptionally spectacular fun and puts the true meaning of opulence into the holidays.”

Fashion offerings, ranging in price from $29.99 to $69, include spandex leggings covered in Cheetos logos (“Flamin’ Hot Pants”), a silk scarf with paw-print design, a cheetah onesie, a bathing brief, high-top slippers and cufflinks.

Or, if your loved one has yearnings for both Cheetos and lavish jewelry, there’s a $20,000 “Eye of the Tiger” ring and earrings set, featuring orange sapphires and white and black diamonds.

Cheeteau perfume — “crafted from hand-extracted cheese oils taken from only the rarest Cheetos and carefully mixed by hitting the blender's 'on' button” — goes for $18.99. And those not afraid to draw quizzical looks might try highlighting their cheekbones with orange facial powder dubbed Colour de Cheetos Bronzer ($11.99).

More practical selections include an oven paw ($11.99); a garish, logo-covered body-warming Big Cat Nap Sack and cap ($49.99); and Toilet Paw-Per (orange paper with a black-paw design, for $7.99).

But you’re too late to nab a campy lounge chair shaped like a cheetah paw, for a mere $99: That item has already sold out.

Cheetos is heavily promoting and teasing its holiday collection through publicity efforts, on its Facebook page, and with a “fashion show” video featuring models parading down the runway in the quirky items. The video is featured on the Cheetos Store site and Vimeo, as well as YouTube (below).
