Minnesota Local Governments Criticized for Email Deletion Policy

Local governments in Minnesota have adopted a new policy to automatically delete emails after 30 days. According to the policy, any email that is not "official" should automatically be deleted after a month. Transparency advocates are concerned about the procedure citing that the language "official" is vague and not retaining records for freedom of information requests.
