Former Wieden + Kennedy 'Just Do It' Creative Joins AMF Media Group

California-based AMF has hired Geoff McGann as the agency's executive creative director. AMF is tapping McGann’s years of experience on campaigns such as Nike’s “Just Do It.” McGann joins AMF from McGann and Partners where he was chief creative officer. For the past 35 years, he oversaw creative for brands such as Miller Lite, MTV and Gap. McGann will lead the agency’s creative team, develop brand strategy and manage the design and production of creative assets from the agency’s Los Angeles office.

Of McGann joining the agency, AMF Media Group President Vintage Foster said, “Geoff McGann brings tremendous success and experience in driving campaigns for household brands, such as Nike, to our growing agency. His industry reputation as an innovator makes him extremely valuable to AMF, and we look forward to continuing to bring results-driven, award-winning campaigns to clients of all shapes and sizes.”

Previously, at Wieden+Kennedy Portland, McGann was one of the initial principal creative forces behind Nike’s “Just Do It” television and print campaign. He has also worked at 72andSunny and Public Interest, a non-profit advertising agency/production company dedicated to socially-aware, cause-marketing initiatives, founded by The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Of AMF, McGann said, “AMF’s boutique size and major-league team gives it the unique ability to be agile and serve clients with evolving needs. It appealed to me as an opportunity to leverage the various aspects of my background to deliver true impact for clients.”

McGann has received Gold awards from Cannes Lions, The One Show and Communication Arts. Outside of work, he is an award-winning Jiu Jitsu artist.
