Just An Online Minute... Foxy Firefox

  • by May 2, 2005
Here's a milestone: Mozilla's Firefox Web browser recently passed 50 million downloads.

OneStat.com reports that Firefox has 8.69 percent of the global market for Internet browsers. The share figure represents a 0.24 percent increase since February.

While Microsoft's Internet Explorer has 86.63 percent global market share, it's not hard to see that at the rate Firefox is going, the upstart will steadily chip away at the software giant's market share. Internet Explorer may have a lock on the browser market for now, but it won't be the slam dunk for much longer. Firefox will increasingly give IE a run for the money.
