Dentsu Aegis Acquires Accordant: No, Not That Accordant

Seven months after acquiring U.S.-based programmatic media-buying company Accordant Media, Dentsu Aegis Network this morning announced the acquisition of another Accordant, a data-driven digital media agency based in Sydney, Australia.

Terms were not disclosed, nor did Dentsu Aegis address any organizational or branding changes, but noted that Accordant Pty Ltd, which was founded in Sydney in 2014 by CEO Steve Knowles and COO Scott King, will become one of Aegis Dentsu’s agency brands.

Since acquiring Accordant Media in the U.S. in September 2016, the formerly independent agency trading desk has been integrated into Dentsu Aegis’ in-house programmatic media-buying platform, Amnet, and Accordant Media founders Art Muldoon and Matthew Greitzer were put in charge of the entire operation, though Accordant Media continues as an independent services brand.
